IB continues to gain recognition with North American Universities
Increase in posted IB recognition policies
and IB scholarships:
A comparison of university recognition for the IB
Diploma Programme in North America from July 2007 to
July 2008 shows an increase of 29% in the number of
universities in North America that have recognition
policies posted on the IB website. There was also an
increase of 18% in the number of scholarships offered to
IB Diploma Programme students.
In the United States, there was a strong 31% increase in recognition policies and a 27% increase in scholarship offerings. In Canada, there was a 6% increase in policies and a 6% decrease in scholarship offerings.
